Phlebology; Varicose veins and leg ulcers

We focus on diagnosis and treatment of varicose veins. In addition, we conform to leading international standards and guidelines regarding the phlebology.

Varicose veins are caused by poor fitting valves that no longer function properly or dilate. Varicose veins can be cosmetically disfiguring, but also give rise to pain, tired legs, cramps, eczema or eventually a leg ulcer. For this reason, it is better to treat varicose veins.

During the first consultation, the varicose veins of your legs are thoroughly checked. It is a painless procedure and externally. In healthy veins there are valves. By squeezing your leg is using the duplex ultrasound examination of the flow of your veins tested and checked whether the valves are working properly. The results of this study and the physical examination will be discussed with you. Subsequently, a treatment plan is drawn.

There will be, in principle, during this initial consultation no treatment performed, with the exception of minor surgery.
